The story
Until the 2010s this was a working district of handmade-shoe factories and warehouses. The factories never fully left — they just share the streets now with roasteries, galleries and one-week brand pop-ups. That mix of red brick, forklifts and flat whites is exactly why Koreans call it their Brooklyn. Come on a weekday if you can: on weekends the neighborhood gets loved a little too much.
